What does the court focus on?
Medical records, the forensic or committee report, the mechanism of injury and who inflicted it. Causation can be contested where treatment complications or other events intervene.
Is a second medical opinion possible?
In suitable cases we request further medical review or expert input. Early requests are better. Do not rely only on the first report.
What about compensation?
Compensation to the injured person is a separate track from the criminal penalty, and both need care. A properly handled settlement may affect the case in some circumstances. See homicide defence.
